Patrick Smith Bio 
Pat
Smith is the president of Patrick Smith Consulting Inc., a firm
specializing in logistics and supply chain improvements for the
furniture industry.
Pat is the former vice president of sales and
marketing for Worldwide Logistics, Inc. and former president of
Cargo Consolidation Services, Inc. In his thirty years in the furniture
industry he has managed all aspects of furniture logistics including
operations, sales, administration, inventory control, warehousing,
fleet operations, distribution, packaging design, and furniture
repair.
Pat has deep ties in the industry. He is a board member
of the Furniture Foundation and a board member of FurnPAC, the
political action committee for the furniture industry. He is a
member of the American Home Furnishings Alliance (AHFA) Suppliers
Division, where he has served both as a past president and as a
member of their executive committee. He served as a member of the
AHFA Packaging Committee that developed the testing standards now
known as “Rule 181,” the furniture industry
packaging standard. He has also held key positions in the past with
the Specialized Furniture Carriers Association, and was instrumental
in their merger with the American Home Furnishings Alliance-Suppliers
Division.
